02/23/23 - Class 14 - progress - painting

PROMETHEUS

I finished up Prometheus' body texture between classes and applied it to the scene (not scanned).

You can see in the "SCANNING" section below the scanned version of part of this texture, which I prefer.

The body texture can be seen below:

I went ahead and scanned some of my painted textures to see how that would turn out and so far I like the colors better, but it alters the colors slightly so I may have to go back and change up some things on the paintings (made the dark spots of the paint very dark).

It also captures the details of the paint better than the prior method.

This is a scan of the Prometheus before I finished painting it. The paint is still wet so I was unable to scan the most current version of it. Here you can see the colors are quite different than the image above. I think I may prefer these colors and details.

COLOR TESTING

I went into photoshop and quickly made a little painted tester background just to see what the colors would look like against a colored background.

I will have an actual background for the scene by class 15 ( I hope).

FOR NEXT CLASS

Next class I plan to have the first scene pretty close to done if not done.
