02/07/23 - Class 9 - Progress Update - Sculpting Sculpting Sculpting Sculpting

The Progress


This weekend I was able to "complete" all of my sculpts that I need for the three scenes. This includes Heracles (scene 03), and Prometheus in scenes 2 + 3. I still need to work on the environments for each scene. I will also probably at some point go back and polish up some of the sculpts if Ive got time. Here are the sculpts:


HERACLES


I went ahead and finished up heracles and added the lion-skin as he is so popularly seen in.


PROMETHEUS SCENE 02


I re-worked this scene to try to make him look more in pain. I made some small changes but I think they were effective. However I still might come back to this one to exaggerate further.

I tensed up some muscles, clenched his hands, reposed his feet, and altered his expression on his face slightly.



PROMETHEUS SCENE 03


I wanted in this third scene to show prometheus feeling defeated as it has been multiple years he has been on this rock eaten daily. I drooped his head and limbs, and reduced his muscle mass, as well as lengthening the hair. I'm not sure how I feel about the composition of this scene, I might move the wings of the bird to cover less of the enlarged hole in prometheus' chest. Also would like to go back and change the hair.



JOHNNY MERCER


I also worked on the Johnny Mercer statue this weekend!

I tried my best to make it so a rig could be made relatively easily, however he is not perfectly symmetrical.

Maybe ready to handoff? Might take an extra day or two to touch up? I also am pretty sure I am doing the texturing too? So that will be next for Mr. Mercer.


That's a lot of sculpting!



THE EDIT


I also managed to throw these guys into their respective scenes and create a locked edit for the timing of the project. I played with some fog in the first scene to give it a little bit of atmosphere to show the distance for zeus, I think it will show better when there is color and proper atmosphere color. I think it works though?



Up next, to the sound design people



Next on the Agenda:


At this point I need to start setting out the UV's for each Sculpt. But so far everything is going according to schedule! However I may first create the assets for the environments now (basically just some ground planes and some rocks).
